Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Apron Operations Manager, The Ground Handling Crew Chief should possess knowledge and have extensive experience in airline ground operations with a particular focus on delivering safe, efficient, and compliant apron operations and ensuring they provide and deliver a service that exceeds our expectations.
In this role you will :
- Manage daily Emerald Airlines operations at Dublin Airport.
- Adhere to and encourage strict safety procedures as set out by Emerald Airlines.
- Allocate and utilise GH Crew to assigned flights and ensure optimum use of Airline / Company equipment.
- Allocation of agents assigned for next day service.
- Manage GH Crew staffing to ensure adequate staff for daily operation.
- Monitor and assist where schedule disruption is possible to avoid further company delays.
- Minimise or eliminate potential delays.
- Develop, mentor, and support the Ramp Agent team to drive operational excellence.
- Ensure effective coordination and communication across departments including OCC, Flight Ops, Inflight, Engineering, Catering and Fuelling.
- Supervise and direct the work of GH Crew as they unload/load and service aircraft.
- Deliver OTP and Ramp KPIs.
- Ensure adherence to all Airline, Airport, ATC and Authority safety, security and compliance regulations.
- Assure all Ground Services Equipment maintenance procedures are assigned and completed.
- Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and log flight information.
- Assist all Ramp team duties (safety walks, marshalling aircraft or passengers, chocking, loading / unloading baggage, aircraft servicing, operating GSE (GPUs, Tugs) etc.).
- Ensure focus is set on prompt delivery of baggage by agents with particular focus on transfer / connections.
- Reporting of any equipment defects to maintenance.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Apron Operations Manager/Dublin Station Manager.s
About You
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements :
- 3 years ramp experience
- Qualified Pushback Driver
- Previous administrative experience
- Proven track record of multi-tasking and problem-solving
- Previous supervisory experience is a distinct advantage
