Emerald Airlines, exclusive operator of the Aer Lingus Regional network, today welcomes applications for its 2024 Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Apprenticeship. Applications are now open and will close on 29th February.
Looking to be part of a team that values continuous learning, teamwork, and a commitment to safety? Emerald Airlines’ Apprenticeship not only opens doors to exciting career prospects but also fosters personal and professional growth.
The Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Apprenticeship is carried out in collaboration with SOLAS, Ireland’s Further Education and Training Authority and Technological University Dublin. With a combined approach of classroom and hands-on experience, those who successfully complete the apprenticeship will be considered for full-time positions at Emerald Airlines.
Successful applicants will split their time between classroom training in both Shannon and Dublin, and on-the-job, hands-on training at the Emerald Airlines Engineering and Maintenance Facility at Dublin Airport.
Emerald Airlines Apprentices will be working primarily on a fleet of ATR 72-600 aircraft and will get to be part of a small dynamic team. Over the past year, Emerald Airlines’ engineering department has made significant advancements in capabilities, expanding its approval scope at its Dublin base to include Line and A-Check approval.
Aer Lingus Regional flights are operated by the ATR72-600, the latest generation of turboprop aircraft combining environmental and economic performance. The ATR 72-600 has a significant environmental advantage over regional jets and turboprops, emitting 40% less CO2.
Commenting on the announcement, John Redmond, Line Maintenance Manager at Emerald Airlines, said: “We are delighted to be launching this year’s Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Apprenticeship. We are calling on all those individuals who have a particular interest in pursuing a career in the aviation industry, more specifically within Engineering and Maintenance departments, to apply. We look forward to guiding successful candidates through our apprenticeship, providing experienced industry mentors to support them throughout their journey.”
